NCRMA offers nine medical plan options administered by Blue Cross NC.
You may transfer to the NCRMA Plan by submitting a Current Health Census to ncrma@cacgroup.com. Please note that you must notify all impacted employees of this change and allow them the option to opt-out.
NCRMA members who are directly involved in a retail setting and have at least two employees, including one common-law employee (i.e., not a family member), are eligible for the NCRMA Health Plan. Health Plan questions, contact CAC Group. Membership and Eligibility questions, contact Amanda McCabe at amandam@ncrma.org.
Participation and Eligibility Continued
Under 50 employees
There is no requirement for offering coverage to all employees, nor is there a set amount of money that an employer must contribute toward health coverage.
50 or more employees
An employer must offer coverage to “substantially all” of their employees, meaning a maximum of 5 employees not offered coverage. An employer must offer a plan at a cost that is no more than 9.96% of their employee’s take-home income.
If your employer decides to participate and you are enrolled in another health plan, you may still be eligible to enroll in the NCRMA Health Plan. Credit can be given for the deductible you and your family members have already reached on your current health plan. If you are transferring from a BCBS plan, the deductible credit will happen automatically. Also, open enrollment is a Qualifying Life Event.
Open Enrollment will be held from Monday November 10th – December 5th. If you have an existing plan, you may enroll when your plan renews. To enroll, please contact a CAC Group consultant below.

Members will be responsible for submitting adds/terms/changes of any employees who elected the plan or are terminated each month. This will ensure each group is billed the appropriate amount each pay period. These census updates will be submitted via the group admin's Simon 365 portal.
